2024 Grenache
Rose Ranch

Our second wine now from the Rose Ranch and from such a different harvest! The ’23 version released in Spring this year was from a cool and late harvest, and we picked on the last day of October on a morning with heavy frost. In ’24 we were able to wait for full maturity and this wine shows the full potential of the variety. This wine is meant to be a lighter wine with excellent cherry fruit and little oak impact to be enjoyed in the first few Summers after harvest. The wine is a little bigger than Pinot and reminds me of the wines I’ve been enjoying from Sicily. Good acidity, great fruit and a little tannic backbone that is a characteristic of Grenache (it always reminds me of the dryness one gets from a cherrystone after the meat of the cherry has been consumed). A great summer wine and should accompany just about anything.
